No more sun

After years of use, i have finally given up on my sun line. The poor signal and frequent network congestion keeps me from using it a lot. In the end it is underutilized and consequently a waste of money. They are a good company but i guess that it would be the teens who use it a lot who would benefit more from their packages. People who need quality connections could go with Smart or Globe. That is unless you dont mind having multiple phones like me.

I finally got a Samsung Galaxy S

A couple of weeks ago, i got a new Samsung Galaxy S. It was a toss up between that and the apple ipod 4 but since the apple was more expensive and the galaxy S has an external memory expansion slot for a micro SD card, the samsung won. Off the bat, it was nice to look at compared to my old Nokia e90 communicator. It was shorter but wider and just as long. The screen is amazingly crisp. It had built in applications but hooking up to the app market opened it up entirely. My first task was to migrate my e90 info into the Galaxy S. I googled it and it said that the best way was to sync my nokia to Outlook and then sync the Galaxy S to outlook. It sounds easy enough. I downloaded the Samsung Kies software and got it to work the first time around. I synced and all my contacts were in. However, Kies only synced the contacts. No calendar, no notes. Also, the crazy Kies only worked once! When i tried hooking up the device again, it could not recognize the unit. Eventually, i had to just delete

Phones

After living with multiple phones, it came to a point that i have to maintain 4 units. The largest unit im using is the nokia e90 communicator. It is pretty useful given the fact that it has a nice full keyboard after you open the unit and pretty good camera. Its main drawback is the size. The fact that its a freebie from globe for using their service a lot is not a bad thing. For the mobile landline, i use the Nokia 1209. It is black and white unit with basic features and a led flashlight on top. The main advantage to this is that the decreased features provides for a long battery life. I dont have to charge for days. The one i use for my sun is the Nokia 6085 clam shell. It is compact but i am wary of breaking the hinge. It was a promo unit from sun which i added money for. The smart number i use is housed in the Nokia 6600. The one that looks like an egg is a pretty sturdy unit. No problems despite several drops. I am looking into the Samsung galaxy or HTC wildfire the to repl

As of 9:30am of July 14, 2010, cellular service are as follows: Smart and PLDT Landline plus: Up and running well Globe: Low signal to none Sun: No signal since midnight I guess that it is smart to go with smart specially when it comes to emergencies.
